Welcome to my website.
I am a “Talent Attraction” associate professor at Carlos III University in Madrid.
I obtained my PhD in Political Science from New York University.

I am a scholar of comparative politics with a focus on political representation. My work tackles two key puzzles. 1) Whether political communication is informative when politicians have strategic incentives to lie, and 2) Under what conditions anti-corrupt efforts succeed.

My methodological approach combines observational data, survey and field experiments, and quasi-experimental approaches such as regression-discontinuity designs. With a geographic focus on Western Europe, my research has led me to also study other regions, particularly Latin America. My work has published in the Journal of Politics, the British Journal of Political ScienceComparative Political StudiesPolitical Science Research and Methods, Journal of Development Economics, the European Journal of Political Research, and Party Politics, among others.
